• Blood = 7.38-7.44
• Pancreatic juice = 7.5-8.3
• Semen = >7 (average – 7.7)
• semen can maintain vaginal pH 7 by its buffer system (up to 10hrs)

SPECIFIC GRAVITY –

• CSF = 1004-1006
• Urine = 1010-1025
• Milk = 1027-1034
• Blood = 1058-1060

VOLUMES –

• Blood = 4.5-5 liters (60-80 ml/kg)
• Gastric juice = 2-3 liters (in 24 hours)
• CSF = 120-150 ml (5 liters/day)
• Pericardial fluid = 10-30 ml
• Pleural fluid = Up to 15 ml
• Seminal fluid = 1.5-5 ml
• GFR = 125 ml/min, 180 liters/day
• 1 unit of blood = 350 ml.

CSF –

• Glucose = 40-70 mg/dl
• Protein = 20-50 mg/dl
• Leucocytes = 0-5/µl

SEMINAL FLUID –

• Liquefaction period – 20 min
• Normal sperm count – 60-150 millions/ml (*million=106)
• Sperm morphology – >70% is normal.
• Sperm motility – >60% is normal.
• Speed of sperms within genital tract – 100 µm/sec (1 cm/100sec)
• Fuel of sperms – fructose, citrate.

GASTRIC JUICE –

• BAO/basal acid output = 1-5 mEq/hr.
• MAO/maximal acid output = 5-40 mEq/hr.
• BAO & MAO ratio = 0.6
